Privacy Policy

Ring’s Pharmacy (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through ringspharmacy.ca, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. This policy is written in plain language and is intended to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

This Privacy Policy applies only to the ringspharmacy.ca website. It does not cover prescription records or any other personal health information held inside the pharmacy itself, which is governed by separate health privacy obligations under our regulatory body.

What we collect

  • Information you submit via our Contact form: your first and last name, your email address, a subject, and your message. A copy is emailed to us and a copy is stored in this website for up to 12 months.
  • Information you submit via our newsletter signup: your email address, and a record of your consent. When you sign up we send a confirmation email, and you are only added to the list once you click the link in it. Our newsletter provider, Mailchimp, records the date and the IP address of that confirmation as proof that consent was given. That record is held by Mailchimp rather than on this website.
  • Information collected automatically by our web server: IP address, browser type and version, the page you were on before, the page you visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is recorded in standard server logs.
  • Cookies: small text files stored on your device. We use a small number for site functionality and caching. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your information. Optional features may set cookies from the company that provides them, but only if you choose to use them. The clearest example is the map on our Home and Contact pages, which does not load, and sets nothing, unless you press “Show map”.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your Contact form submission.
  • To send you the newsletter you signed up for.
  • To operate and secure the website (server logs help identify attacks and performance problems).

Personal health information

Please do not send personal health information through the Contact form. The form is not a secure channel and is not monitored for urgent matters. For anything involving prescriptions, medical questions, or health-related concerns, please call us at (867) 874-6744 during business hours.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We share information only when:

  • Required by law (court order, regulatory request).
  • Necessary to operate our service providers (our website host, email delivery service, and email newsletter platform — all bound by their own privacy obligations).

Third-party services we use

We don’t run advertising trackers and we don’t sell your information. We do rely on a small number of outside services to make the site work, and each one receives some technical information (such as your IP address) as a normal part of delivering content to your browser.

  • Google Maps: our Home and Contact pages offer an interactive map showing where to find us. It does not load automatically. Nothing is sent to Google unless you press “Show map”, at which point the map may set cookies from Google. If you would rather not, the “Get directions” link opens Google Maps in a new tab instead, and the address is written out on the page. Subject to Google’s privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts: the typefaces used across the site are served by Google, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. No cookies are set by this. Subject to Google’s privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: a security check on our contact form that tells automated spam apart from real people. It runs only on the Contact page. Turnstile is not an advertising product and is not used to build a profile of you. Subject to Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
  • TELUS PharmaConnect (linked from our Refill Prescriptions page): if you choose to use it, your interaction is between you and TELUS Health. Ring’s Pharmacy is not responsible for the security or availability of that app.
  • Mailchimp (email newsletter): if you sign up for our newsletter, your email address and your consent record are stored with Mailchimp, who send the newsletter on our behalf. Mailchimp is only involved if you choose to sign up. Nothing is sent to them when you simply browse this website. Subject to Mailchimp’s privacy policy.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form submissions: retained for 12 months unless we need them longer to respond.
  • Newsletter signups: retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: retained for 90 days.

Your rights

You have the right to access any personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, and request that we delete it. To exercise these rights, email info@ringspharmacy.ca or call (867) 874-6744.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users via the website.
